What is Cloud Networking?

You’ve heard of cloud software and cloud storage. In fact, they’re both changing how you work. Instead of loading and maintaining software on individual machines or network servers, you simply access applications hosted in the cloud.

How the WAN Acceleration Market is Evolving

Depending on who you ask, the WAN acceleration marketing is either coming to a screeching halt or it’s rapidly accelerating. While both sides make valid points, one thing is crystal clear: today’s WAN acceleration market is vastly different than the market of yesteryear.

How Cloud-Based WAN Acceleration Became the New Normal

WAN acceleration technology has been widely used for years to accelerate traffic across wide area networks. These accelerators use local caches to improve data access and performance. Though WAN acceleration has been available for years, it’s time for it to evolve. Today’s cloud-based applications coupled with a mobile workforce demand performance improvements. At the same time, virtualization requires additional bandwidth.

Dilbert: Evaluating Cloud Technology

Networking 101 - WAN Optimization

A Look Into Two Entrepreneurs From India

A conversation with the brains behind the company, second time entrepreneur Ajit Gupta and Sonal Puri, who comes with vast experience in marketing IT products for companies in the valley. Covering a large range of topics, from experience of being a B2B success from India to going from one startup to another, Ajit and Sonal share it all in this detailed reception chat.

The Importance of WAN Acceleration in Business

What would you do if a mission critical application’s performance regularly screeched to a halt one or twice a week, or even one or twice a quarter? Disruptions across the WAN could severely impact operations, productivity, customer retention, and ultimately your bottom line. If your applications regularly underperform, you’d likely want answers from the application’s developer or even start shopping around for a new solution. But what if the application’s failure is due to your own WAN?

Network OnDemand: MPLS Performance at a Fraction of the Cost

In recent years, cloud-based services have begun to expand to networking technology through WAN Optimization as-a-Service solutions. One vendor has taken this one step further with the launch of a Network OnDemand offering.

The Benefits Of WAN Optimization

As you likely know, an application’s potential performance is limited by the network’s performance. Bottlenecks, excessive hops, long distances, inefficient protocols, heavy usage, and other factors can severely impact the flow of data across the WAN. When the WAN underperforms, applications access over the WAN simply cannot live up to their full potential.

The Cloud is for Rent: Infrastructure-as-a-Service

Amazon is now 20 years old, and now has a market capitalization of over $150 billion. The company, which was founded in 1995, soon grew from being an online bookseller to the world's largest online retailer of products of all types. In 2006, Amazon launched its own cloud know as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and now dominates in yet another area of the online space: cloud computing.

Improving Business Performance With Web Application Acceleration

In today’s electronic world, it is necessary for businesses to consider the way that their customers and potential customers are accessing their services. It is no longer a matter of simply having a website where people can connect with you. Internet users are accessing your information on everything from their home computers to smart phones and tablets, when they are on the go.

By turning WAN Optimization into a service, Aryaka has changed the game, helping businesses of all sizes unlock the true power of information. By moving this complicated technology to the cloud, Aryaka helps businesses avoid expensive hardware purchases and puts WAN Optimization within reach for businesses that didn't have the budget or know-how for complicated hardware fixes.

The Future of MPLS

There are many different forms of technology that we may use on a daily basis but we don’t give them much consideration. One of the more successful technologies that have been used in the past decade is multiprotocol label switching (MLSP). This is a form of technology that is used within telecommunication networks and passes information from one network node to another. It is able to do so quickly because it passes the information along shorter paths rather than looking up each passage in a routing table.

The Migration of SDN and WAN

If there is one thing that is always true about technology, it's the fact that it is constantly in motion. As the world becomes more and more connected on a global scale, the need for additional technology becomes obvious. One of the ways in which this technology affects both businesses and individuals is in the way that networking takes place. At one time, it was possible to take care of most of the networking needs through software defined networking, also known as SDN.

Application Acceleration: Data Reduction

Application acceleration uses a variety of optimization techniques to accelerate the delivery of IP applications. One of these techniques involves data reduction. After all, if you can reduce the amount of data that must traverse the WAN, WAN performance should improve as a result.

WAN Accelerator Appliances vs. WAN Optimization as-a-Service

WAN accelerator appliances are used to optimize a Wide Area Network so that end users experience improved WAN performance. These appliances use various optimization techniques such as data deduplication, caching, and compression to speed the flow of information back and forth across the WAN. For example, commonly accessed data might be cached so that it is readily available whenever a user needs it. Since the data is cached locally, it doesn’t need to be retrieved, loaded, and transmitted across the WAN once again. This can save a significant amount of time when distances are great.
